Professional networking site LinkedIn has rolled out a new and improved search for recruiters to simplify their task of finding passive candidates. The advanced LinkedIn Recruiter feature will allow employers refine their search as per the candidate’s exact details like geography, expertise, education and industry background.
According to Esteban Kozak, Senior Product Manager at LinkedIn, recruiters fully recognize the value of passive candidates, with 60% saying they get better hires when hiring passive talent. They also realize what a great source of passive talent LinkedIn represents, with 93% stating LinkedIn as the most successful hiring site. Read the rest of this entry »

Business-networking site LinkedIn will certainly remember its sixth birthday for years to come! The company, which would be completing six years this week, achieved a milestone by recording 40 million registered global users, with one-fourth users (10 million) coming from European countries alone.
It is clear that Europe has been LinkedIn’s favourite hunting ground so far. On further segregation of the demographics, the site added about 0.25 million new UK users in the last couple of months, taking the tally to 2.25 million subscribers in the UK, out of which 0.50 million members are from London. Professional networking giant LinkedIn is on an expansion drive despite the gloomy economic situation. The pioneer of business-oriented social networking has announced a German version of its site “LinkedIn auf Deutsch”; clearly indicating that it intends to become the globe’s local social network.
As far as the European market is concerned, LinkedIn already has more than 9 million registered users, generating a need to offer more and more European languages.
