MySpace and Vodafone Team Up To Create Music Sensation
Posted by Vaibhav Kalamdani on June 20, 2009
Collaboration is the need of the hour to grow and sustain, and MySpace is doing exactly that. The social networking site has partnered with telecom major Vodafone to launch The Music Studio – an eight month campaign targeted towards music aficionados. The strategic partnership is a result of Vodafone’s ambition to strengthen its connection with the music industry and MySpace’s aim to enhance the experience of its users.
Accessible in the UK, Germany and Spain, The Music Studio will allow users to remix the latest tracks, get insights from music experts, and obtain tips and tricks to increase their band’s profile. Besides, bands could get an opportunity to take part in the monthly ‘Ones to Watch’ competition and win exciting prizes.
Vodafone is looking to pump up its revenues and hopes that the short-term project will help it achieve its objective through its music-related offerings. A top official of the Vodafone group said that The Music Studio gives users an interesting, innovative and useful product while strengthening the company’s association as a key player in the music industry.
This is not the first time the two giants have teamed up with each other. Last year, they had organized “Vodafone Music Reporter” competition, where a lucky winner got the opportunity to report a gig on MTV.
